The 1689LBCF | Chapter 30: Of the Lord's Supper - Paragraph 2

Chapter 30: Of the Lord's Supper PARAGRAPH 2 In this ordinance Christ is not offered up to His Father, nor any real sacrifice made at all for remission of sin of the quick or dead, but only a memorial of that one offering up of Himself by Himself upon the cross, once for all;3 and a spiritual oblation of all possible praise unto God for the same.4 So that the popish sacrifice of the mass, as they call it, is most abominable, injurious to Christ's own sacrifice the alone propitiation for all the sins of the elect. 3 Heb. 9:25–26,284 1 Cor. 11:24; Matt. 26:26–27

Spiritual Growth is paramount for every Christian. Being confessional grants quite some good spiritual growth. This is for all Christians, young and old, men and women, the pastor-teacher, and laymen. This confession of faith is like a mini-systematic theology that one is able to go through and be sure of what they believe from the Word of God. This is NOT like the Book of Mormons or any other writings of men, that are considered equal to the Bible. The 1689LBCF is a document designed to solidify the beliefs of any Christian as seen in the Bible, especially those of Baptist convictions.
