#201 Finding Light (with John Higgs)

This week I spoke with John Higgs! John is a writer, journalist and cultural historian. He writes extensively about William Blake and counter-cultural figures like Alan Moore and Timothy Leary. "William Blake vs the World" and "The Future Starts Here: Adventures in the Twenty-First Century" are just two examples of his work. I am reading some of John’s books on William Blake at the moment and I’m really enjoying them. In this episode we discuss the magic and mysticism of William Blake and how reading his work can help us understand: the world in a more imaginative way, our various models of reality, the sublime and the divine, counter-cultural figures like the electronic band KLF who set fire to a million pounds, pragmatic optimism, and finding a new approach to dealing with the mysteries of the world!
